If you haven't already noticed, Provance has been down for well over a year. We have no idea when it will be coming back online, or if it will even be coming back at all. Please note that I do not own provance, so stop emailing me asking if you can purchase it from me. Find Russ and ask him about it.

I know it's been a few months since any updates were posted here and for that we're sorry. Provance is still on hiatus and at this point in time there is no set date on its return. For all of the honorable members, we thank you for holding out this long. If you could please stop sending e-mails asking when the site will re-open it would be greatly appreciated. Believe me when I say that you will be informed of the sites return. Thank you for your cooperation.
I'm sorry I can't respond to everyones' emails individually - we ARE still on hiatus. Development on the new backend is well underway, but progressing slowly. I'm overwhelmed with client work (this is a good thing) so I haven't been able to spend more than an hour a day on Provance for the last few weeks.
I say it's a good thing that I have paying client work because it means we can afford to keep Provance (the bandwidth and server eating site that it is) hosted for a while without implementing crazy traffic monetization steps.
I'll try to write up some documentation for you to preview next week so you can get a taste of how the new site will work - I think you're going to love it!
Another reminder - if you ever had problems getting emails or know your email address has changed, PLEASE correct it in the account manager or re-signup AND if you use anti-spam software be sure to whitelist *@provance.net. We're going to use the member and signups databases to contact everyone via email when the new site is ready. Everyone will have to create a new account on the new site - it's a minor inconvenience compared to the efficiency we'll be gaining.
Due to the facts that I moved, got married, and lost some hd's this summer, progress on the new Provance.net has been slow.
The current backend is holding out with the current number of users, but can't handle many more. I'm working on rewriting the entire site to make it able to handle many more members in an automated and reliable fashion.
Since the helpdesk is no longer functioning, I am stopping the nightly emails. All messages to support will be ignored. No need to worry, though - the rest of Provance still works, so everyone with their code in place is helping send visitors to each other, and we continue to take new signups at a rate of about 25/day (though you new members won't be placed in the rotation till the new site goes live).
Due to constraints on the current database, members will be asked to re-sign up when the new site goes live (tentatively scheduled for the end of September).
If you don't receive an email from me about the new Provance by the end of the month, please check back - many of the member email addresses we have on file are corrupt or bounce, and yours could be one of them.
